BUS ERR?
Happens to meoccasionally.......I changed my ignition and it started after that. All ya have to do is unplug the maxi fuse under the left sidecover and then reinstall it. I can't tell youwhy but that's the fix for me.
I just installed the ElectraGlo light bars this past weekend and when I turned the ignition switch to turn them on, I received "bus err" on the odometer. The bike would not start. After much head scratching and fiddling, I reduced the problem to the accessory connection. When the light bar is plugged into it, bus err is indicated and the bike won't start. Unplug the connection and everything is fine. Checked all the connections and all OK. Anyone know what is going on?
I believe the tach and speedo are in the accessory wiring circuit, I would
have to go back and re- read the wiring diagram to confirm though.
But either way try the last sentence.
The load or the controller may be causing a faulty signal.
Try tremporarily connecting straight to the battery
