Bryan,
Our route on Sunday is taking us from Antonito, CO over Cumbres & La Manga Passes into Chama - Bloomfield. Inessence we'll be doing a part of theplanned route on early in the week (Sunday) rather than coming all the way back into NMon Friday to finish the route.
I don't want to change your plans but just want you to think about it; if you are planning on coming through Taos and over the Rio Grande Gorge bridge, Antonitois afew miles north of Tres Piedras, NM and you could hook up with our group and ride thepasses with us. If not, it'll still be fun...see you on Sunday.
Wish I could make it with you guys. I was just up in Chama and Southern Colorado last weekend. Very beautiful up there, but be care full for the deer. They are everywhere.
Even though THeresa & I aren't gonna make it after all, I'd still like to say a BIG "THANK YOU" to Bill, Steve, Wiskers, and everyone else that has put this together. I have been looking fwd to this since we met and talked about it in Billings MT, a year ago. You guys ROCK! Sadly, it's just not gonna happen for us this year.
EVERYONE doing the ride..... 1st ~ BE SAFE and then HAVE FUN!!!!!!
Since we had the time blocked, we're gonna do a little aimless wandering and just see where the road takes us. We'll be think'n about ya'll.....
Thanx for that advice 07FLHRCMarinePatriot, and to you too Dogs of War. Speaking of deer, here in Iowa I know 3 people that have hit deer in the last3 weeks. One dead, one recovering from extensive surgery and the other is still in the hospital from a wreck on Tuesday on the way to work. I have never seen it this bad. One friend was actually with the guy when he hit a doe and the same friend found the guy that hit one on Tuesday. He is thinking it is a sign I think, said his bike is a not a topic to bring up around his wife. Got my radar on full gain for this trip, and I am crossing my fingers for good measure.
