I have an RC Components Air Cleaner. Instructions say the filter is HD-0818. Except that the filter that is suppose to go in it isnt suppose to have the silver inner cover thing. Its just an open filter. Called RC and the guy on the phone had no clue. Anyone out there who has an RC Cleaner and know what filter it uses? I am thinking RC maybe had K&N make an 0818 without the center??
See what I mean? Basically the same thing. The Roland Sands one might actually be the one I need. Cant find dimensions of it or cross reference to K&N model

Hello Jesse. How may I help you?
Jesse
Hi Chad, I have an airstrike air cleaner. what filter is supposed to go in it?
Chad
Sorry for the delay. I am having computer issues
Jesse
No Problem
Chad
That is a special filter that K&N made for us. You will probably have to call us and order it directly if you need one.
Jesse
Ok, how much are they?
Chad
I think they retail for like $45
Jesse
Do I have to call or can you order me one?
Chad
I would call (270) 842-6000. That way we don't have to put your payment info on the computer
Jesse
ok Thanks!
Chad
Not a problem
Jesse
do you have the part number or dimensions of that filter?
I know the install instructions say HD-0818 but I know it doesn't take the 0818 cause its a closed filter
Chad
We just make up our own part number. I don't have the K&N number. Our number is SP-3431. The dimensions are the same as that Harley Filter but it just doesn't have the metal plate on the outside of it.
Jesse
great thanks. Can it be ordered online?
Chad
Not the filter only. You will have to call but RJ will take care of you. He is at that number
Jesse
Ok!

FYI- I ordered the filter directly from RC at a price more reasonable than typical for a K&N filter. Also, their customer service was exceptional and they went the extra mile for me.
