Broken rider backrest repair attempt

Default Broken rider backrest repair attempt
I have a rider backrest on my 07 FLHTC, the inside plastic molded shell broke and I am attempting to repair it

When my tour pac cracked I used drywall mesh and ABS cement.

Whats your plan?

Pins, rods, plastic welding epoxy and/or fiber glass resin. I’m off to Lowe’s and Advance Auto.

On my tour pac I used fiberglass mesh and ABS cement. I'm not sore that would work on the backrest. I would think the pushing and twisting forces would be too great for that.
For that I might consider a piece of aluminum molded to shape glued and pop rivited in place over the plastic.
Or hit ebay up for a used one...

Drilling a small hole at the end of the crack should stop it from growing any longer. Then reinforce as per your desire.

Thanks I’m gonna do that before I put the fiberglass resin an mesh, I’ve already put a coat of plastic welding epoxy on
