As I mentioned the other day, we had a couple days to aimlessly wander.... so a few of us took off this morning.
Wifey & I, Kevin (Buttman) & Pam, and Bernie (HOGWild03) left Dallas this morning, expecting to have rain but missed it all and we went opposite all mornign traffic too! By lunch time we were somewhere between Monroe La. & Vicksburg MS. When we finally stopped for the day, with just over 600 miles logged for the day, we found ourselves in Mobile, AL.
I'm thinking we'll be seeing some beach tomorrow (both gulf & Atlantic)! Momma wants some fresh crab for dinner, so I guess we'll have to find some for her..... Darn!
We had a great day of riding today and plan to do the same tomorrow.
I'm kinda tired though!
More tomorrow, if we find a place w/connectivity....
Taking off without a plan is great fun. I used to head out on a Sunday morning years ago, and I'd never know where I would end up 'till I turned around to come home. I rarely had more than one day off at a time, so I made the best of the few days I did get.
Thanks for the reply. The rides are great, didn't hit any rain till today. Kevin and Phil hooked up their video cameras today, should have some good shots. Not trying to gig you but the roads are awesome. Kevin said we are just scouting for you when you get to make the next trip. TRUST ME WE ARE COMING BACK!!!!!!!!!
Bernie
Greeting all.... we're "connected" again, at least for a little bit.
We had a great visit w/Carl & KevinB, in Delonega, GA (AWESOME little town) last night and they gave us some tips for headng out this morning. We (indirectly) took hwy/fm 60 thru northern GA up into TN. WOW ~ that is a GREAT road. I highly advise it for anyone passing near the area.
We came arcoss Cherohala Skyway (sp?) into Robbinsville, which is where we are now. It's a neat town too! We did have a bit of rain on the last 1/4 of the Skyway, but it was great too... nonetheless.
Tomorrow we're hoping to visit the Wheels in Time museum and then back to ride the Dragon.
Dunno what's after that....
Allen ~ That's not such a nice thing to say! [8D]Now you've gone and blown it for yourself! We were on a covert recon mission and were gonna surprise you with a ride for your birthday. We'll... guess we can forget that now! hahahahahhahaha!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!![8D][8D][8D][8D][8D][8D]
Brad ~ How far is VT from Deals Gap? We still have some time to burn!
Allen, I know we were supposed to do this ride with you, but, the opportunity came up and we weren;t able tp pass it up!Sorry, but you know how it is!!!!!
We are getting some good video and will get some good stills also. We will try and post some later!!!!
