Default Waterless Wash

Due to recent threads and a little use of the search function I have become intrigued by waterless wash. Did a little searching on other forums and it seems the Porsche and Ferrari guys use waterless wash great results. I am sure I am not the only one who wonders....when you only spray that on and get the surface wet, then wipe, doesn't the dirt just scratch the surface when your wiping? Apparently not, but to me...when you wash with water you are flushing the solids away before the wipe.

So when I wash with h2o, I hit all the paint and reasonable surfaces with a microfiber cloth but there is ALOT of the bike that I just depend on the pressure of the water and flushing action of the water to clean. I don't hit everything with a towel or sponge. It seems that waterless wash you have to spray it on and then wipe to remove particles.

For those of you using waterless wash...what are you doing for all the little nooks and crannies?

If you can find it, there's a product called EcoMist. I got a bunch of samples from a sales guy at a show who just didn't want to haul them back home. It does the job well.

I use Masterson's waterless wash n shine. HERE and I use microfiber towels where possible. If not I cant get it there with fingers, I will take a q-tip and wrap the microfiber around it.

There's a special technique to use when using some of these waterless products. They usually contain lubricants that encapsulate the dirt and you initially wipe using a gentle wiping motion after saturating the area and leaving the product on for a few seconds. Then gently wipe the area again using the clean side of the soft towel. Down side of this is you have to use a lot of towels. These products are good for the tins and chrome (non-exhaust), but for the engine I'd use good 'ol H2O.

I've been using products by Griot's for my bike and cars. I use the waterless stuff on trips as a just in case to wipe bird droppings and such.

Been using waterless cleaner and polish since '09. No scratches ever. I like it because I can clean my bike anywhere, anytime. Rainy or cold days I'm in the shop polishing the bike. No hose, buckets, soap to mess with. Spray it on and wipe it off. I use a product called Ultra Luster since '09. This may not be for everybody but it sure works for me.

Ive tried a bunch of the premier WW concentrate. Wolfgang Uber and Ultima WW are the ones I like the best.
Here is the correct way to use it, the best I can describe. I use a pressurized sprayer.
1.Saturate the panel or part you will be working on
2.Use a MF towel that is designed for WW. Fold the towel in half long ways then roll it up
3 Gently go across the panel from top left to right
4.Move down to the next part and unroll the towel so a clean section contacts the paint. And so on

Here is another way. Mike Phillips is one of the premier detailers in the world

tjanks for the input guys. What if a guy were to use the waterless wash...but then use water to wash away the crap rather than a towel.

You can do that. Sometimes if the bike is real dirty, I'll spray it down with the WW to soften up the bugs and crap. Then wash. I use https://www.autogeek.net/waterless-w...-carnauba.html It has some carnauba wax in and shines real nice
