Default Windshield help request!

I've searched some on here so I'm not being lazy. I think its just going to be easier to put out my parameters and ask for help; I'm riding a 14 SGS, Hammock seat, 5'-9" but with a longer than avg torso. I have a standard height windshield but its got some shape to it. I also have the batwing deflectors, dog dish and fangs. I still get some buffeting up top. I've experimented and I really feel like its coming from the 2:00 and 10:00 positions over the windshield. I'm thinking another 2" and maybe a flare might do the trick? If I add 2" I'll still look over it.

thanks in advance for any suggestions!

I'm about your height and I wear a 29" inseam pair of jeans. I first got a 10" LRS Recurve and it really helped a lot with the buffeting. I just recently got an 8" because the 10 was a tad too tall and dark tinted and it's working out good so far.

Give John at Freedom Shields a call, https://freedomshields.net/. Very nice guy and he will get you setup. I tried the LRS shields as well, however, I prefer Freedom Shields.

Recurve! That's the term that was eluding me tpcowfish. I had a recurve on my Clearview. hawgrider768 what do you prefer about the freedomshield?

I'm 5"10" with an average torso, ride a 2014 SGS with Hammock seat. I have several windshields but to help explain, when I use a Long Ride Shields recurve in 8", I can easily see over it. Right now I have a 9" on the bike and am getting used to the extra 1" of height, leaving it on for the season. You would probably use the same shields as me, you can verify by going to the LRS site and follow their directions for fitment.
I measure from the top of the middle mounting screw to the top the windshield, You can use your existing windshield as a guide. Measure your windshield and add 2" like you want, if it adds up to about 9 inches, you're close.

I prefer the Freedom shields because there seems to be better clarity and the quality is just better to me. The LRS shield is okay but there is more distortion the few times I have looked thru the shield, riding in the rain etc. I also get better customer service from Freedom than I have from LRS. This is just mu opinion but I will stick with Freedom shields from here on out.

I'm a little shorter than you (5'8") and have a short torso. I'm running an LRS 7" ultra recurve that puts the airflow just over my head. I look over it comfortably. I do get some buffet, but it's coming up under the fairing - pretty easy to check - put your hand out flat in front of your knee - if the turbulence settles down on the side where your hand is down, then you know. I put the dog dish on but didn't really notice much difference. I probably should try fangs, but haven't yet.

That said, my wife who is 5'7" and taller in the torso gets some buffet from over the shield when 2 up. Next thing to try for me is a little taller LRS flat top for long 2 up rides - just been back and forth on 8" (I'll definitely be able to see over this) or 9", where I might end up looking through the top edge.
