I traded my 06 for the 07 a month ago, And I still haven't rode it,,I figured it was gonna get a total haul over from new,So Waiting for the 08 wasn't going to do me any good anyway....
My Theory, The Year doesn't matter to me, Cause I'm not leaving it stock anyways
Get on it and Ride ...That's why they make aftermarket parts..LOL
I just picked up an 07 last week for 11% off of msrp + $600 freight a prep. I figured that any changes to the 08s wouldn't be too drastic, as the 96 and 6 speed are new in 07. The deal sealer for me was the 4.9% financing. With what I saved on financing and the bike, my payment is about 100 dollars cheaper per month. On a side note, I do think that you will still be able to find an 07 SG after the 08s are announced and the financing promo is good until July 31st.
From what I've read the 08's will have more restrictive i.e. leaner EPA regs.
Also there have been rumors that there will be NO mods allowed by the dealer.
As they just came out with the 96" I doubt there will be any significant change, and as they make $$$ on the oil coolers I doubt they'd include them except on the CVO's which have had them for quite a while.
I bought an 07 1 week ago , very happy , the 103 stage II /SERT goes on next monday
i called over 30 dealerships 2 weeks ago trying to find a good deal on an 07 street glide.
i couldnt find very many vivid black ones but i did locate one where the dealer would sell it at MSRP and A) wave prep/crate fees (about $600) or the dealer would B) give me a $750 gift card for harley acc.
When you compare their prices w/ zanottis and chicago hd i wouldve waved the prep fees..... but i was really looking for more.
Another guy on this forum PM'd me and told me last week he got an 07 street glide (blue) for $1000 below MSRP and they waved all prep/handling fees, i cant remember if he got a gift card or not, but i doubt it.
I've been told that all dealer have a projected sales quota that they have to meet every month to stay in a specific pricing tier with milwaukee HD, and stay on their good side.
If you find or figure outa dealershipthat isn't meeting this quota you can go there at the end of the month, cause they know they'll be short if they don't sell, and wheel and deal, especially if you have cash. Guy that told me this talked them down $3 grand on his new bike.
i got a '07 street glide for $18500. out the door, no delivery/setup just this saturday, the 23rd, were going back to florence this saturday to pick it up. its going to replace my brothers 2001 Rk classic that he wrecked last month by a left turner
If you are paying cash, I would wait on a 2008.
However, if you need financing I would get the 2007. My dealer is doing $750 cash back rebate on all 2007s and HD has a finance rate of 2.99-5.99% depending on term. That financing will save you a ton!!
