Ar there any issues relevant to this particular model/year?

Steering will
not turn as tight on 09 touring bikes. The Police complained so much a retrofit part was made for the triple tree so they could do tighter manuvers. If you don't do tight u-turns 18 and under it wont be a problem

No but I have heard the 96 called twinkie before,
I'd appreciate it if you would take the time to tell me about these issues?

Twinkie is Hillbilly slang for Twin Cam. I have a 09 Ultra Classic and I have had no problems. Enjoy the ride.

I've put 187,000+ miles on my RKC. No serious issues. If work would allow, I would not hesitate to take it on a long trip today.

Just buy the thing already if the price is right. And don’t forget to post photos of your new ride.

I have an 09 Road King Classic and my biggest issue is all this damn rain is keeping me from riding one of the best HDs I ever owned.
