Default Lower clunk

I just purchased a 2003 Ultra Classic. It's my 1st Harley. While riding i feel a clunk in the lower end of the bike when hitting bumps. It fells like something is bottoming out. Any recommendations would be awesome.

Could be a number of things from minor item to a suspension or brake problem. Be sure to inspect the lower front motor mount, as they tend to fail.

Sure. You need to go over that bike from top to bottom and end to end.

May just be your jiffy stand bouncing and the rubber cushion from stopper bopping the frame?

Test - while bike is parked...move the jiffy stand a bit down (just a lil) and release...does it sound like the noise you're hearing?

Just a thought...?

That’s how these things come you just need to upgrade the rear shocks.

I recently had the exact issue with my '06 Street Glide. Felt like the rear shocks were loose even going over small bumps. The front lower motor mount (just behind the voltage regulator) was completely worn out. My mechanic removed the OEM motor mount and installed a Machined Gooden-Tite ISO Front Motor Mount (Part # 0933-0106) from Drag Specialties (dragspecialties.com). Problem solved. As stated by other members you need to check your bike closely. A service manual is an invaluable tool. They are available online in PDF format downloads, on CD's, or my favorite, original Harley-Davidson Service Manuals Touring Models on ebay. The service manual for your bike is HD Part # 99483-03A.
