Cameras
Okay, after seeing a pretty bad accident, the wife wanted me to research cameras "just in case". Obviously looping and gshock would be great. Water proof is a must because we live in alabama and it is humid let alone the random downpours. I've read up on the go pro's, but for the money the reviews seem to be 50/50. Also been looking at mounts, ie Rickrack, hogtag, ram, etc. They are all good mounts for a gopro or knockoff. I'd like to keep it fairly simple, as in not running cables all over the bike, power cable is no problem and have windshield bags to route things in if needed.
So some reviews of guys who've been using something for awhile would be great. There are always going to be bad products just due to the nature of production, but time/durability is what really shows the quality.
Looping
Gshock
rain resistant/waterproof
power supply or battery (duration/quality)
etc. etc. etc. Any info that would help since I hate spending money twice, especially if I'm paying big bucks the first time around.
Was leaning towards this, but it doesn't have gshock. It's not critical but would be nice to have as an option. Obviously its more for safety than taking high def videos of great rides. It's been frustrating, because I'll read reviews on line of the "top ten" cameras, etc. But then go to amazon or somewhere and out of 2k reviews, 60% are good, 40% are bad. That's a pretty high number of failures to drop $300 or $400 on (I've also learned that more expensive...doesn't mean better quality).

Actually, that's not bad. Especially since they have waterproof case and charger. https://sjcam.com/product/sjcam-acce...er-motorcycle/
So it's given me another option to look at. Just have to read up on the different modes. Even if it's a good looping mode (longer time than 5 minutes), that would still make a difference even if it doesn't have gshock auto shutdown. Fortunately police are starting to look more for these cameras at the accident scenes. So a longer loop time means that they may find it before it erases the original video.
