I have a 2006 Road King 7000 mi, completely stock. Has always run great, now all of a sudden an engine ping in 5th when you throttle it that was not there before. Beenbuying 92 octane at same station since i have owned it. I tried gas from a couple of different places and the ping is still there. Will I be forced to buy a ton of mods to fix it? Didnt really want to.
If the weather got hotter or the humidity got higher it will effect your combustion. The '07's are pushing the envolope on this issue anyway so factor in the humidity and it's over the top....it's going to ping.
Sorry to say but I don't know anyway around it....mods have to be done or live with the pining. If you add gas additives it will blow out the 02 sensors. Make sure you get a good tuner that knows how to use the fuel managment system you buy or needless tosay all the mods in the world won't matter if the tuner gets it too lean...it will still ping.
