Adjusting pushrods...
On old harleys (presumably running solid lifters) we used to adjust the pushrod so that it would turn kind of freely but it would not make a sound when you moved it - on a stone cold engine.
Now, these videos I see on youtube are talking about some number of turns? Since I don't know what brand of pushrod is in my new (to me) bike, how would I know what number of turns. Turns on what?
I'm not digin' this.
Anybody make sense of it? I appreciate
You're going in thru the top to install rocker lockers right ? No need to remove the push rods and even if you did, why readjust them ? Just put them back in the same spots. All of that said, it's just a matter of counting threads per inch and knowing total lifter travel IF you were going to adjust them. I would also install the newer style stamped breather assemblies, I think they're about 12 bucks per cylinder. You can find the part number of the kit here:

Just search for a 2010 or newer Dyna and the part number will be there. EDIT, here's the easy button; you need two of them.
17025-03A BREATHER ASSEMBLY 12.99
Here's a couple of tips.
The new style breathers use different bolts and come with the kits, don't buy them separately.
Clean the oil out of every blind hole you encounter. Don't run the rocker support plate bolts down without doing this; you can create a crack or break a bolt by hydro locking.
Do one cylinder at a time and make sure both push rods are on the cam base circles. Tighten the rocker support plate bolts a little at a time while insuring the lifters bleed down. At the end, you should have the rocker support plate tight and the push rods should be able to turn by hand. Your call on replacing push rod tube o-rings.
DON'T over tighten the breather bolts or you'll break the bottom of the casting out and you'll have a leak.
Other than that, not much to it.
