I was getting a bunch of oil blowing all over the right side. I also had a drop under the right floorboard. The drip under the right floor board was the same spot on the floor as the one that was due to a leaky clutch cable about a year ago.
While they had the bike I had the front tire changed and asked for an oil change.
So I picked up the bike after everything was apparently handled. As I was riding it home I got some wobble in a 70mph sweeper. So I got into it a bit and found a wobble between 90 and 100 that was not there before. I get home and check for blowby and good news was it was mist Free. The day after I got the bike home I go outside to find the leak underneath is still there.
2nd trip to shop.... They re-balance the tire but after a week of trying cannot duplicate the oil leak. I ask them to retry and still they insist no leak. So I reluctantly go pick up my bike knowing it will still be dripping if they didnt fix anything.
On the ride home still get some high speed wobbles, not as bad but still there. I put the bike in the garage and wait 20 minutes before going out and checking. What do I find when I get back outside? You guessed it, about 6-10 drops under the floorboard. I layed down some card board just in case.
3rd trip back... So I call the dealer raise hell and bring it back same day. There is fresh oil under the frame and I provide the cardboard for proof of the leak. They gave me grief over the wobble because it doesnt happen unless over the speed limit. Before I left I had them agreeable on checking steering head. The techs began looking for the leak and are confident that it is leaking from the clutch cable.
Im going to lose it if Im still dripping or wobbling when I go get my bike back.
I had a clutch cable leak a couple years ago; fixed under Extended warranty. In the exact same place as you. I can deal with a lotta things, but leaks ain't one of them.

Its still under ESP. Well see if they can get it right this time. I dont only have 2 months left on ESP so it needs to be right this time.
Why won't the shop put some oil dye in the oil ? Only need about 2-3 ozs., drive a couple hundred miles then hit the leaks with a black light, you'll find the problem that way, worked good on cars and tracking down a shift shaft oil leak. Also surprised they haven't called in the customer rep. to help out.
Yeah, I was pissed when riding it home knowing it would leak again.
Not sure if if I want to renew the ESP. Might just let this bike go... I’d rather have a bike I can ride than one that spends so much time in the shop!
