ESP Advice
I am looking at an extended service plan for my 2016 street glide and need some advice. My dealer is really pushing the HD ESP but I feel it is over priced. I contacted Jim at Boardtracker about their program and they changed their administrator to First Extended. Has anyone had experience with First Extended? My dealer said they never heard of them.
As long as it’s accepted everywhere and it’s backed by a good insurance company?. If a specific dealer is using them they might have vetted them but I have never used them...Are they a lot cheaper than the HD plans...
of course it won’t be worth a crap if you don’t have to use it.

Jim Palmer still handles Cornerstone and makes First United available in states where Cornerstone is not available.
I feel along with plenty of others Jim Palmer will not steer you wrong. If you dealer says he never heard of First United tell him to get off his *** and call them.
i have a Cornerstone warranty on my RGS and will be extending it within the next few months, never a problem.

Jim never gave me the option of cornerstone. First extended is the one he told me that boardtracker now sells. I am not familiar with First extended and my dealer is not familiar with them either. It is less then half the cost of the HD program with same coverage ( at least on paper it is the same)
your dealer does have the latitude to sell you the cna esp for less than suggested retail. but to allay your worries, call jim and talk to him. i doubt he would steer you wrong, he has too much to lose reputation wise.
I was emailing him yesterday and he had the Cornerstone still available here in IN. That's what I'm going with I believe, just as soon as I finish this kitchen remodel.

Jim has a lot riding on these policies, not only his reputation but also the ESP he is selling, one negative experience by anyone will surely have an impact on these programs.

Regarding those types of plans, they are being offered simply because it is a great moneymaker for the dealership. Think about that.
In my personal experience owning pretty much only new bikes, I never went over the cost of what a service plan (extended service plan) covers. Never.
They sell you on fear. What if. What if. What if. Well, the what if statistically does not happen. Insurance companies are not stupid. So if you think “business” you are likely not going to purchase one. If you are afraid and want to cover you for comfort reasons, that is a different story.
When I worked for a company furniture company they loved the service plans because the profit margin is 90%.

yeah, but with the weird problems that the m8 is having, and the commonplace failures of the 110, i would feel pretty comfortable laying out the money for an esp. but, i do ride my bike a bit. if i only rode 2k per year, i probably wouldn't
