But id the stock air filter is already a high flow filter, and then you add high flow mufflers, the I can see where you had better add a tuner.
Thanks for that comment. It cleared up a lot of misconceptions for me.
That used to be the case until 2014 when they increased the flow of the stock air cleaner. As far as a tuner, even a completely stock bike will benefit by having one. FWIW, the FP3 is a fantastic, easy to use tuner.

If you want some good advise give Fuel Moto a call, they can tell you what the best set up will be for the performance you want.
Good Luck
Oops! In my post above I said my bike with the stage 1 was stock except for the CVO muflers. I forgot to mention that I have a stock header with the catalytic converter removed. It was cut in half, the cat removed, then welded back together. Other than that it's stock. (Unless I remember something else I did to it. Gettin' old and forgetful stinks.)

Cooler and more responsive. Haven't found a downside to it so far. FWIW, the guy who runs the dyno and does the tuning at my local dealer said that the stock air cleaner is more than adequate for a stage 1. He said, "Save your money and buy something else." I figure he'd know what he was talking about.
I've always heard this as well but I ran across a Arlen Ness big sucker A/C for my 15' SG and man what a difference it made. My previous set up was about the same as yours with LA Choppers 4" slipons, a K&N air filter in the stock housing, and then tuned with the FP3 and the bike ran very well and much much better than stock. I had no intentions on doing anymore until a I ran across the deal on the big sucker and I'm happy I got it, definitely an increase in power with it. Yes I still have the CAT in the headers too.

I use the Dynajet Power vision on my M8107 with a tune from Fuel Moto. I installed a 2 into one catless pipe and a SE Extreme Flow air intake bike runs cooler and better MPG

Money matters to some of us. All the money we paid for our Harley (mine was 4 years old when I bought it). Compromised, not a new bike, not a CVO, just a used stock Limited.
Installed a K&N air filter into the stock air box. Compromised.
Purchased a gutted header pipe for $100 delivered. Compromised.
Purchased new take off CVO Mufflers $198 delivered. Compromised.
Installed and auto-tuned a FP3 for somewhat less than MSRP. Compromised.
Bike runs great, no complaints.

On my past bikes I did all the cams, TTS, Dynos, headers, slipons and spent a ton of money, bikes ran great then too.

If I had a ‘14+ 103, it would get a proper 2-1-2 header and Dyno tune. Easy 105 tq/85hp plus. Replacing the stock a/c and mufflers will net little gain without going into the engine.
