Hello,
I am getting ready to install the Dakota Digital antenna and was wondering where do I connect the antenna power too? Wire color would be a big help. Thanks!
I don't know what color to hook up to. I would take a test light and probe a wire that goes to the fairing, turn the ignition on, and if it lit up your testlight, you could use that wire (probably, depending on what it powered). What I would do is run a hot wire under the gas tank from the antennae to the fuse panel under one of the side covers that got hot when the ignition was turned on. If you wanted to be really safe, install an in line fuse in the wire going to the antennae. Hope this sheds some light on your hookup. Please let us know how the antennae works out as it is highly regarded on this site.
This is why this site is so good. I tried to help Rhino out as no one was answering, and Oldschool and BillNourse came up with a very easy solution in the lighter.
