This is pretty weird and was wondering if this has happened to anyone else..
I have a '14 SG. Last Thursday I gave the bike a once over. Aired up the tires. Only a lb. or two under. Rode to work on Friday. Short ride on Sunday. Front end washed out a bit in front of the house. Checked the tire pressure. Back normal, Front 0 PSI. WTF??? Checked the tire. no nails, screws, punctures or cuts. Aired up. No pressure drop of over 24 hours. Checked valve stem, no leaks.. Again WTF??? Only about 13,000 miles on the original HD tires.
Gonna pull the wheel and get a new tire this weekend. Kinda sucks 'cause there are several thousand miles left on the tread. Why would this happen???
Even if it isn't a valve, since you may have to do something with the tire, do yourself a HUGE favor and get ya a couple of 90 degree valve stems. Finally picked up a couple that will be going on my new bike ASAP.
Could be as simple as a loose valve, so check it is tight in the valve stem. As for 90 degree bends, I had a failure using one of them on a rubber valve stem - it split the stem and left me by the roadside. If you have metal stems they should be fine.
Thought it might be the valve. Gonna swap it out. Sucks 'cause I ride to work on a pretty isolated road with no cell service. Would really suck to get stranded..
Thanks for the help..
HAPPY 4th. everyone!!!
