Do you have problems with the seat when it's wet? I had the Ultimate seat on my Nomad for ~30,000 miles. I rode through torrential downpours and never had an issue with the seat soaking through. It had been out in the rain for days at a time too.

I know what they say, I'm asking if you're having problems. I ran mine for the afore mentioned for 3 years too. It still looked like the day I bought it. You make not need the cover, just my personal experience.
That being said, if you do want the cover, pony up and buy the Ultimate cover, as it was made to fit your seat. Saving 10 bucks doesn't really track if you're having to make it work.

For the record, I loved my Ultimate seat and I am probably going to get one when I get back from my trip in a week. Have you already had a chance to ride with yours?

yes. have been toggling it on/off w/ a Corbin so haven't logged a ton of miles on it yet. Will eventually post an update.
what bike you putting it on? and, if you order, maybe makes sense to get their rain covers at the same time! lol not having luck w/ the Saddleman one I have, but cannot return it.
HD OEM seats never an issue, some aftermarket seats require covers so the foam isn't damaged.
I never would have thought to ask if a seat would be damaged by rain.
Seems awfully counter intuitive to make a motorcycle seat that will be damaged by the elements.
I had a Corbin seat once where the top was a fabric. Very comfortable, breathable riding seat. I just used a garbage bag to cover it. Not because water damaged it but because riding it dry was better than riding with it wet.

Agree completely. Ultimate seems to be the only place that 'requires' cover. Dunno. I guess that is where a HD OEM seat shines....have never worried about them sitting in the rain.
