Love the gages and the look of the fairing onthe street glide everything is at eye level, never have to look down.Just out at the horizon. I also love how low it sits stock. Bags are air tight and offer all the storage needed for the wife and I.
I do like the looks of the sg, even considered trading in my rk custom for one. But, in the end, the vision for MY bike, did not have a fairing that I could not remove. Just a thought. You can always add a fairing at some later time, with the sg, you wont have this option. Just my $0.02
How about a Roadking Classic, or Hardbags, Matching Tourpack with quick disconnect (Leather or FG) and an after-market batwing stereo fairing that mounts using the quick disconnect windshield system of the RK.
Actually, I just saw a custom bike in an Atlanta Dealer, from Thunder Mountain Customs. Was a Softail with hard bags, and a Batwing Fairing. Cool Looking, real low and mean> http://www.thundermountaincustoms.com/frontier.htm
I looked at the Thumder Mountain bagger at the showroom in Colorado. It was friggin' awsome. I don't have $38k to spend on a bike, but if I did... Two bikes I would buy. The frontier from Thunder Mountain and a Bourget dragoon springer. Not sure if that is the right model, but here is a pic of it. The thing is B-A-D.
