They came out with the wider tires as stock(& H-D followed suit)and they had fuel injection from day 1(& now H-D bikes are all EFI). So I guess some competition will help all of us eventually.
The only thing I can guess is about the cooler motor is that they get away with it by having that big oil cooler/radiator on the things.

When I first saw the picture of that bike, I absolutely hated it thought it was the ugliest thing I have even seen.

Good Gawd that's ugly,...now we know what Batman will be riding, all it needs now is a side car for Robin!!
This thing definitely a Ness influenced bike. Waay too modernistic for most HD riders, IMHO.
