Default Another Bars Thread...

Looking into road 6 standard apes in 11” or 13”

I had the opportunity to sit a few Road glides with apes at the dealer, including a personal bike of an employee.

Stock bars are 8”, Road Glide ultra are 10”, he has the factory 12” apes on his road glide, but he had them rolled forward and they felt a little tall.

The ultra bars felt good but were just a little lacking for me.

My question is this how much difference does rolling the bars forward of the forks make?

I am 6’3” 255lb with a Lepera Maverick DLL

Based on my observations should I go with the 11” or the 13” if I keep them aligned with the forks?

I read just about every bar thread that gets posted and I don't recall anyone ever saying "I wish I had gone with shorter bars" when they are having this debate, but many wish they had gone taller. I went with 12" monkey bars, which most claim are closer to 14" bars and they are in line with the forks. I'm 5'11" with a 32" inseam for reference and they are perfect. I would say 13" minimum.

I would agree. I'm 5'10" with a 30" inseam, and I have the 14" monkey bars. I debated going 12" long and hard, but I'm REALLY glad I took the chance and went 14". Mine are in line with the forks.

I also vote 13".

I’m looking to have my hands even with my armpits no higher.

I would say the 13" would be close, if not lower than your armpits, but I don't own that brand of bars. Perhaps contact the manufacturer for confirmation.

My 14's are just barely to the bottom of my pits. I don't think the 13's, at your height, would be as high as mine are even.
