I have replaced the Engine Temperature Sensor on my 2013 Trask Turbo with Thundermax ECM. For whatever reason it shows a code after 10 or 12 minutes of riding. I clear the code via PC and comes back on again shortly after.
I have checked the leads and all good. Any ideas from the experts?
I just completed the latest firmware on Thundermax and it automatically reset all codes. I know that’s not the fix but I will road test on Wednesday. Not sure what cause this issue.
Road tested after firmware upgrade. Bike passed the same code again, 117/118 engine temperature sensor Hi/lo.
I removed the sensor and checked the voltages. 0.01 on side of the connection and 0.02 on the side of the lead..
is is possible I have a brand new faulty sensor? Or any help?
Sounds to me like intermittent shorts / opens.
Check the cables / connectors to the sensor. (Don't forget to check the pins in the connectors)
Try wiggling and pulling the cables / connectors to see if you can induce the code yourself.
The problem actually sounds very simple, it is finding it that is difficult.
