Not sure why one would want a wider shield... unless it is for the passenger. Please enlighten me.
Less wind on the rider and passenger. I have used a straighter profile on both sides then blended into a curve at the top. Mine is not wider but straighter up off the fairing similar to the picture that HBsoldier posted. Mine stays straighter a little further up than his picture.
My favorite all-around is the National Cycles V-Stream Ultra Low in dark tint. For the few weeks of the year that it's chilly, I'll switch it over to a V-Stream that is 10.25" tall.
I went with LRS. I'd do it again too. I went with a 9" Recurve and it came quick too. When it arrived, I noticed a small rub mark in the center that most likely happened in shipping. They told me to keep that one and they'll send another one. I asked them to send a 7" instead and they did. Also, a sale started after I bought mine and they refunded me the difference (if the sale started 1 week or less after receiving, they'll do this). The 7" is good for me but with a rider, I'll put on the 9". Great company to work with.

I ordered another one a week ago, hasn't shipped yet. I think the 10" recurve may work for me... I think that is what I had on my 06 FLHTCI.
