I'm not well versed with what is available accessory wise from multitudes of vendors, so I am reaching out.
I ride a Road King, it's a bike that's stylistically very nostalgic. I've never been a fan of apes and flat, wide and low beach bars aren't my thing either. When I was at the museum, the position on the old bikes with a wider, mid level bar was the best it seems.
So, wondering if there's a bar set up like the old 36 EL's available today? Something like that? I don't know the name of the style. M bars? Dunno. Comfortable for distance?
These are Wild 1 518's. There not as wide as a beach bar and couple of inch rise. I had Burley Beach bar before but they were so low that I would have to point leg out to make parking lot turns. I love the ride I get out of the these Wild 1's. Timm
Check out the bars on a Heretage Softail They are almost like mini apes and fit me well. I'd also look at the bars on a Ultra and a Road glide Any of these will work on the King. Your local Harley shop is your friend when you are trying to find a new set of bars.

I like that. Seems similar to what I am looking for. Comfortable for long runs? I want to try a 1000 mile/24 hour run next summer.
Full maneuverability like stickers? Lock to lock? Need to upgrade riser or extended cables?

Your riser would work fine, if I remember correctly, the brake hose was +6 and clutch was +4 but a call to Wild 1 and they would be able to let you know exactly. I think there very comfortable but never taken ride over couple hundred miles. Not sure what your asking about on maneuverability. The wider bars make it super easy on the road steering. Parking lot takes a bit of getting used to you will have a bit on long stretch with arms in a sharp turn.
