I am going round and round with myself on this issue. I just picked up a set a VH Classic slip ons from E-bay. The bike is bone stock. I would really like to put them on to get the sound change I am looking for, but, am still waiting for the funds to get the air cleaner and fuel programmer. The polls seem to be split as to whether I will need to add a programmer with just the slip ons. Thoughts??
Pretty simple- put them on and if you get a bunch of popping on decel, take them off till you get your programmer. If not (and I suspect this will be the case) enjoy the sound of your new pipes...
Lost1,
I was thinking of that approach. Run it for awhile checking for issues and maybe pull the plugs after a bit. My gut feeling is that they will open things up too much though. I'll post what I do and the results after the mufflers show up.
