if you have tapped holes in the rotor, you can use a good old fashioned harmonic balancer puller (rent from your local auto parts house). the threads are the same as Chevy starter bolts, so most likely the puller kit will have them with it. I have a 2000 Ultra with the 45 amp rotor, and the magnets are no joke trying to pull it off. Harley tech manual recommends a threaded puller, and in the absence of their proprietary one, the harmonic puller worked just fine.
also, if you stay with the stock type stator, Cycle Electric is a top notch piece. I replaced my stocker with their stock type replacement. I now have no charging issues with the bike. They use a better type of insulation on the windings that resists the heat better than the OE unit.
