Default Stator tool?

Was wondering if the tool for removal and install is a necessity for changeing rotor on stator. Plan to get cycle electric stator and maybe regulator.

Lost most power last night so shut spots off and red light went out, along gage going from 8 to 10 then about 15 more minutes lost all charging. Barely made it to hotel in Canada. Headed home to charge battery so can take truck back and be able to load on trailer.

I just use a couple of allen wrenches or picks with vice grips or pliers clamped to them. Some guys tap the holes in the rotor and use 5/16? (I believe) bolts to grab onto. Always glad to buy new tools but not if I'm only going to use them once. Jims and I believe Heartland or Georges Tools makes a rotor specific tool if you want to go that route.

I like the idea of tapping, then can hold better on install. Thanks
stuck at the boarder right now and have to cross two more times. Not sure if I'll have time to test things tonight

I use a cheap steering wheel puller from Autozone. Cost was maybe $12

I just pulled it off using a couple of bent pieces of coat hanger.
If the inner primary cover is off you can just pull it off with your hands.

Just make sure your fingers are clean..
Those be some rare earth magnets on the stator.
Hope the crossing is easy on your return trips.

Magnets are on the inside of the rotor, no need to touch them.

Thanks for all the tips. Opened inspection cover last night & smelled burned. Checked today no volts from stator, regulator checked ok.

Thinking of going to the three phase system, because something has to change. Like going back to stock bulb over the xexon or going LED's to get it so it don't over work the single phase set up. With the three phase they said you can max max out the voltage and it won't run hot
