Probably depends on style. Supposedly you can do 14s without extensions. Factory 47 has a great video on youtube. I did 10" yaffes and was fine aside from wiring the pieces of ****.
Kind of depends on which bars. They are all measured differently.
I put WO578’s ((10 inch) on 2016 Limited no problem. Only needed the Namz wire extensions and NO clutch or brake.
I put Yaffe 10 inch Monkey Bars on my 2017 CVO Limited. Same as above.
The wire extensions are a must but they are very little money.
As as for the clutch and brake hydraulic lines that is a different story. Mine were stretched tight with the 10 inch bars. You can rework/ reroute them and get them to fit with a little work. I would personally switch them out.
As mentioned there are a lot of threads on this and a lot of videos. A quick Google search will give you some great videos showing how to make it work.
You don't "need" wire extensions. Follow the Factory 47 video and they will show you exactly what you need to do. I have 12" Spooky bars with plenty of wiring to go to 14s.
If you want to get an extension for the wiring, just for peace of mind, it's like $40 at a dealer. Good luck.
