My bike came with V&H Dresser Duals and 4" Rineharts. Probably not what I'd purchase if I were spending my money, but I'm not planning to spend the cash to replace them. Certainly not what I'd call too loud. My last bike with stock head pipe (no cat) and V&H twin slash rounds was a bit louder.

I have the V&H dresser duals along with monster ovals. Great sound and not too loud, great for touring

Running Cobra True Duals with Rinehart 3.5's. Nice rumble maybe a little loud at Idle but I rode it 975 two weekends ago and it was fine on the road, didn't have to crank the stereo to hear it. Love duals.

Thanks for the positive feed back, now just wonder how a black head pipe and chrome slip ons will look?

As long as you don't mind losing low end torque go for it.

I must be the only one that dislikes the sound of a true dual. I'm replacing mine with the S&S power tune dual header as soon as I stop blowing money in my damn sound system. Mine are loud but not terrible, I just hate the sound. Much prefer a 2-1 but with a bagger I stick with an x or h pipe because I like having both sides.

You’re not the only one, everybody’s needs are different. If I were building a bar hopper, I’d go your route. If I were building a touring bike with my lady on the back, I’d go true duals.

Really? I don't like mine for long runs down the highway. It just sounds funny to me at 80mph when I roll on it to get around 18 wheelers. If I want to cruise around town it doesn't bother. We are pretty much exactly opposite here on what sounds good to us lol.

That's kind of what I meant by everybody's needs are different. I don't consider touring going down the interstate at 80 mph, personally I hate the superslab … although it's great for making time but horrible for touring. My wife and I always take the back roads so 65, maybe 70 is tops but it's mostly spent at 60 mph and enjoying the view and the ride. Not saying my recipe is correct, it just works for me.

I run S&S Power Tune duals. True dual look with a hidden crossover. Look great and sound awesome with Crusher mellows....perfect combo of rumble and decibels.
