Roadglide 2015
Hi from the UK and welcome to HDF. That's not much for us to go on! You have an ignition key which fits into the lock in the ignition switch. Does your key work that lock? Having unlocked it you twist the switch body to lock/unlock the steering lock. That is two distinct actions, so which one doesn't work? If your bike is an International spec it may also have an additional steering lock in the side of the steering head (my older Glide does). Is it that one that is giving you problems? Tell us more!

we eventually got the barrel out got a screwdriver in there
now got it unlocked and engine started but ignition barrel won’t go back in but at least we can get home and head to the dealership on Monday
Hopefully they will be able to sort it out for you, but do let us know. If you fancy doing your own servicing and problem solving in future, get the FSM from your dealer while there. It's a great read and should empower you to solve future snags.
