Signature bike, yes... it's old haha. I want to add a tach but I don't want a separate gauge nor an aftermarket one. Does the Moco make a speedo tach combo that works on a 2000 RK?
Have not been able to find a part number for anything older than 2004. I guess thats when they switched over to the new can bus style?
Thanks

I think you are correct...unfortunately. I put the speedo/tach on my Road King and liked it.
I had one on my 2004 fatboy. Dont know if it came that way or was added. Bike was used. But they did make one. I would think, anything from 2000 to 2006 would work.

The canbus didn't start until project rushmore. I thought the ones in the accessory catalog would work. I think that certain functions like the gear indicator would not work on the earlier models but the general functions work just fine. I have the CVO speedo/tach combo on my 2010 RK. I like it a lot. It's a clean way to add a tach.
From 2004 to 2013, Harley used a serial communication similar to the current CAN-BUS. 2014 started the true CAN-BUS. This allowed the trouble codes and the communication links. Before 2004, I am not sure how the TACH worked. It may be just a simple ignition system. The Police model had a TACH on the handle bars.

That is correct. It is the best place for a TACH on a Road King.
I am with HBSlodier3 on the location. I have a 2011 RK Classic and installed the tach on the handlebars like the police model but I used the billet aluminum mount. The large tach is great and I look at it all the time to see RPMs.
