You need to be more specific on what bike and year. I got tired of waiting for Harley to come out with one for the new style Road Glide and bought Custom Dynamics. I no doubt got a better light.
No, I have not, but JW Speaker made the original HD Daymaker. If they make the new one as well I would buy their version of it before the HD one. I say that because I replaced my HD daymaker on my 14 FLHTK with the JW Speaker version and was much better, and at a lower price.
No, but if you buy one from a HD dealer you'll spend $250 more than necessary. Shop the all-mighty interweb...much cheaper & just as good options available.
I bought the true beam from Custom Dynamics it is better then the stock daymaker as far as the high beam goes low beam I can't tell much difference but is it $440 better that would be up to the individual the Harley has come out with a new daymaker adaptive headlight but that price is $850 I saw the video on it it looks like it would be a good headlight but I'm not going to spend $850 to find out not after I just bought that true beam headlight the headlight I saw was for the street glide I don't know if they've come out with a new one for the Road Glide you can go to Harley's website and check out the video on it

Nobodyknowsme, did you purchase the Trubeam LED light through Custom Dynamics? If so, are you satisfied with your purchase?
I could NEVER say just how much I love this light. Their engineers stayed up late at night making this light what it is. I have had Daymaker, Truck Lite, JW, other aftermarket and this thing outshines them all. Going down the road is expected but where the Road Glide lights have always failed was in the turns. That is where they really made this light exceptional. Pricey, yes, but I know that I got my monies worth. Kind of like getting really good suspension for your bike. Just something that you can more than appreciate when it is done right. But to answer your question, I bought it from Eastern Performance. Long story there but pretty sure I paid close to retail? They had it drop shipped directly from the source I believe.
Installed one on my 2011 FLTRX and the difference was astounding! Like stated above use on of the online HD sites to save a couple hundred dollars. Not cheap but well worth it especially if you ride at night.
