GRbrown, I went on their website and the 777 series is for heavy cruisers according to them.

Some tyre brands regard Harleys as that! You can enter your bike details and they will recommend which of their tyres is suitable, go to the Fitment tab on their website.
On the other hand, as I have already mentioned, there are other tyre brands. All my US-made V-twins are on Avon tyres, which I have been using since the 1970s - they're grrrrreat!
Ex, sure enough the website stated load rating of 73. I have a road king classic with laced wheels. The 777 are stated as tubeless tires. Can I put them on a laced wheel if I use a tube?
My '16 Deluxe has steel laced rims and an inner tube is required. An inner tube is always required if the wheel requires it regardless of the tire. The valve stem holes on your rims should be on center of the wheels, so no issues there.
No issues with the Shinkos I had and no issues with the Avons I currently have now.
I have another set of mag wheels (tubeless) for the Deluxe I use for long haul riding, as it's easy to repair with tire plugs. Those I also have Avon Cobras.

I was on the same boat as you a couple of weeks ago. My rear tire has maybe three or four hundred miles left on it (Dunlops Elite ll www)
I was going to replace with the same type, but after reading extensively and watching a few videos on you tube about the 777 I was sold.
Not a whole lot is said regarding negatives and a lot of positives. Aggressive riders say 6500-7000 miles for the rear tire. At $85 is a no brainer and most ppl report superb grip on both dry and wet roads.
What else (other than the brand name and the Harley logo) could you possibly want?

The 777 Heavy duty Mu85 is load rated at 77. Same as almost any other tire suitable for use on Touring Bikes.
First I want to say, this is all my personal opinion, and in no way do i recieve anything from, nor am i offiliated with this company. Shinko bought Yokohama a few yrs ago ....ive used shinko tires since 2014, on all my bikes. 11 RKC , 07 Softail standard, and will be using them on my 15 fxdb soon. They have superior grip on wet roads, better than any other tire I've put on my bike, and also great on dry as well. Yes, you will get less mileage, but it's a better tire IMO.
