Default Called for Rain

That was the forecast for Saturday anyways and I thought I would swap out some dull factory parts for shiney bling bling. This is what I started with Saturday morning after a early meeting with the accountant.

Wild One chubby 575 bars, chrome levers, chrome front wheel spacers, Bad As Hell fork cap, Chrome fork lowers and Cruise control. The cruise unit went in first and smooth, then the bat wing came apart for everything else to go together. I think I actually started work on the bike around 10 AM and finished it up last night around 11 PM but there were a few issues most time comsuming was the handle bars, I didn't notice they weren't dimpled only pre-drilled so I had to run the wires through the bars which I wasn't planning on doing but went ahead and did it and got the bars on and everything else buttoned up thenclutch cable needed to be re-routed and I couldn't get the cruise to initialize to take out the slack so I called it a night.

Well, this morning I got to the shop and Renegade stopped by and noticed the brake light was on...well to make a long story short, the clutch cable got re-routed outside the fairing, it dont look bad but braided cables are going on next. I got the brake lever fixed where it would dis-engauge the brake switch and the cruise control started doing what it is supposed to do. Took it out for a quick spin and everything worked great. Thanks to Renegade for giving me a hand during the process. Here are a few pictures of the finished product.

Looks awsome Allen. How do you like those bars. I'm thinking of the same for my Road Glide.

Thanks Bryan. The bars are great, take a little getting use to because they are wider and I hadn't planned on internally wiring the bars yesterday but had to if I wanted them on there. I have my seat setup where I am low and back in the saddle and these bars came right back where I needed them and they do look awesome on the bike all phat and no wires on the outside now

She's a beauty!

Couple of questions:

How do the575's compare to H-D Touring Pullback bars in height and pullback? See lots ofguys using 575's. Looks like grips now interfere with mirrors. What's you take or plan on that? What wheels do you have on bike? I like 'em.

I have a 2007 SG. I have both 2up Sundowner and Mustang Solo with driver backrest. Removed crash bar and using Kuryakyn Mark IV Cruise Arm (hiway pegs). With around 200 miles, I still think I need bars back. If I ride with rider backrest, no problem. If I don't use backrest, back isn't comfy more than 30-45 minutes. Don't really want to use backrest around town.

I am not familiar with the HD pull back bars so I cant answer that one. I did have to adjust the mirrors some and still see quite a bit of grip and hands in the mirrors and have been looking at the new Kuryakyn mirrors for the inner fairing mount but I haven't gotten to ride enough with the setup to determine if I need to change yet or not. The rims a RC Royale's.
