Default Handlebar controls question

Hello,
I have installed a OEM cb on my 2012 streetglide and purchased the necessary harness and everything to make it plug and play and everything is working fine except I do not have the PTT/Squelch button on the left hand control. I purchased a real nice left hand control off a 2009-2013 ultra thinking I could merely plug and play but NO. The street glide left hand control to main harness plug is entirely different then the ultra plug. In fact one is male and the other female so am I at a dead end? I seriously thought all main harnesses for touring were the same and some plugs and/or wires are used or not used depending on the bike. IDK what to do now...any suggestions? Thank you.

Are you absolutely sure you have the correct connection? There are intermediate harnesses involved. I think you are correct that all 2009-2013 hand controls for touring bikes should interchange. They would just have more or less wires from the connectors.

The seller told me they are the left hand switches for a 98-13 touring. Definitely the wrong connector for my main harness. The ultra switches I bought have a connector with only 12 pins...no empty positions. My street glide connector has 12 pins but with 4 empty positions for possibly 16 pins. The below pics... pics 1 thru 3 are the street glide left handlebar control 16 pin connector. pics 4 thru 6 are of the ultra left handlebar control 12 pin connector.

ultra connector wiring...
1- orange, 2- yellow, 3- blue, 4- white , 5- white/violet stripe, 6- yellow/black stripe, 7- violet/black stripe, 8- brown/black stripe, 9- pink/white stripe, 10- green/black stripe, 11- gray/green stripe, 12- orange/black stripe

street glide connector wiring...
1- orange, 2- yellow, 3- blue, 4- white , 5- white/violet stripe, 6- yellow/black stripe, 7- black/ red stripe, 8- brown/black stripe, 9- pink/white stripe, 10- green/black stripe, 11- gray/green stripe, 12- black, 13 thru 16 empty.

thank you for any help... hopefully I can swap connectors and use these ultra switches on my street glide.

Thank you

It appears pre-2009 had no clutch lockout switch possibly?

If you're looking for wiring diagrams, go to the HD Service Info Portal and type the year & wiring in the search box …. "2008 wiring"
https://serviceinfo.harley-davidson....67c6008f3!!1!6

The 2008 Touring had a clutch lockout. The R/S control is 12 pin and the L/S is 16 pin.

IIRC the clutch lockout started in 2007
