Default Over reved downshift

screwed up majority a couple months ago. I was accelerating hard in second gear, and went to shift to third but foot slipped going for the shifter and I accidentally went into first. It went over redline, and as soon as I realized it I immediately pulled the clutch in. It was only at that rpm for under a second. It’s been about 800 miles since then. Runs just fine. No noises or other issues. Obviously I’ll never do this again, but anything I need to worry about? 2018 m8 road glide.

I'm gonna put it out there, we all have done it at one point and time. I would not worry about it.

You're good. You have a fail safe in the rev limiter. Unless you programmed a tuner for a much higher rpm the limiter will keep you from damaging anything other than your ego.

Don’t think the rev limiter would stop it since the rear wheel is driving the engine speed. Caught a quick glimps of the tach and it was over the redline. But only for a split second. Hopefully it only damaged my ego. Bike has ridden just like normal since then.

If you touched a valve you would know about it then, not now.
No worries.

You are not the first nor the last. Firgure out what caused you to do it, don't do it again and enjoy the ride . The bike forgave you 799 miles ago.

That thing is toast and could grenade on you at any second. I'll give you $10k for it to put your mind at rest. Even if it doesn't grenade the first time a dealer plugs in their diagnostic tool it will upload a warning to the MOCO to instantly void your warranty.

Ride safe.
