Somtimes I have to ride at night andfeel like Ineedmore/better lighting so Iam consideringaddingeither two more spots or upgrading the headlight on my '06 RK. Harley sellsfog lights but I don't know ifthey will give sufficient lighting. Are there any good after marketspots that can mount on the crash bars or lower forks? Harley also sells the head light upgrade but not sure if that is worth the money. Any suggestions out there? Thanks.
Thanks for the input......think I'll check into theHID lights. Have read more about them since the forum feed back and seem like they offer a lot more intesisty.
Another vote for the HD fog lamps; 55 watts each; list at ~$135. Very well made and not obtrusive. I've had them on my '04 EG for two years and use them all the time due to heavy north metro Atlanta traffic 24/7. Also, multiple lights seem to be more noticeable than a single source light, IMHO.
I use the HD lights, hears a little trick if you buy them. I hid the wires in the engine guard you only need to drill three holes one under each light and one under the center mounting bolt of engine guard. This makes for a clean look no wires showing.
The HD HID dual headlight is the way to go, it does everything that is advertised. While on a ride a few weeks ago, I was the 2nd in group formation and the leader was using my headlights to see the road since my low beams out-performed his Ultra Classic stock headlights. Believe me, you won't be dissapointed if you choose to buy the HD HID dual headlights. I had the dealer install minesince I didn't have confidence in my abilities at wiring and I figured that if the dealer didn't get it right they would have to "make it right". The low beams are so bright that I get flashed every once in a while from oncoming traffic when they think I have ny high beams on. The high beam on the HD HID dual headlights is like a friggin beacon and outshines the stock 3x the distance it seems. The low beams allow you to easilysee into the trees on both sides of the road as well as everything in front of you.
