Default Solo trunk help ???

My current ride is a 2010 Road King Classic . I have a Mustang solo seat on it and would like to put a trunk on it with the attached back rest for when I'm traveling solo . I have only seen this once on a bike and thought it would be a great way to add some comfort and get some extra needed storage for longer trips . I do have the 4 point docking system for the backrest when I ride two up . I would appreciate some help on what parts I would need to make this happen . If you have a set up like this , pics would be cool too ! TIA

I don’t have a the set up but I think all you need to do is change the TP mounting plate. See information below.

i've done exactly that with every touring bike that i've owned. my wife rides her own so there is zero need for me to have the two up setup. all you need is the solo tour pack mounting rack. you already have the docking system.

Does the tour pack block the bags from fully opening?

no, not with the pre rushmore style. from what i understand on the newer bags, you may have to put a spacer under the tour pack to lift it so the bag lid can swing fully. but because the bottom on the newer bags is not totally flat, i think the spacer doesn't need to be very big.

Solo detachable mount with HD Tour Bak. No problem with saddlebag lids opening. I believe the lid rails can be installed also without interference. I'll be installing them soon, so I can verify then.

Sorry guys , had to run out and take care of something //// So this is what I have ( see link ) .. If I were to purchased the mounting rack that Mofo67 ( thank-you by the way ) has suggested does that mean it will work with what I have or am I missing something ? Also I have recently put a set of hardbags on instead of the leather saddlebags so I'm sure I won't have any problems with it opening .

pretty much what i have. except i don't have the 4 point docking hardware, i only got the 2 point. but i didn't need the 2 extra mounts. they no longer sell the 2 point, so should work. assuming you put the pre-rushmore style bags on? shouldn't be any problem with clearance, you just have to be aware of what you're doing, don't just swing the bags open. i have to go up a little, then shift the lid away from the bike, then swing the lid open.

Yes they are the older bags . I will take note on being a little more careful when opening . I'll order the solo mounting rack and go from there ... I haven't found a trunk yet , but will look into it also . Much appreciate the help !!
