In my opinion there's nothing uglier than a motorcycle that looks like it was dipped in a flat black or gloss black tar pit. Motorcycles should be shiny with lots of chrome or bright colors not dull and boring so that they get lost in a sea of mediocre sameness. I walk into dealerships today and the showroom look like a funeral procession instead of a 4th of July fireworks display.
I am only asking for opinions on what most people do. Gloss or denim. I will ultimately do what I want since it is my bike.
I think gloss black would be a good contrast to the denim paint, as far as slip ons matching, you could always get some gloss black slip on covers that come in CVO models.
I like a mix of textures/finishes, I did some of my chrome in gloss, and some in wrinkle black. Im happy with how mine is coming together. At this point I only have a couple small parts to do, as I plan to leave the pipes chrome.
