Always upgrade my lights. Have spent stupid money doing so but I justify that stupidity.
Have a detachable TP for both bikes but they stay on more than off for the same reason, to keep the wife happy.
Although your shield is dirty the bike looks clean and sweet. Got to love a Road King and the simplicity of them.
If you really want to sweeten the ride pretty much on the cheap, check out an LRS shield to replace the stock one. I was amazed at what a difference it made. That was at least 10 (?) years ago?

Yes , keep us posted ! I didn't really like the stock shocks this past summer . Not as smooth as I would expect them to be with air , so that's one of next winters projects .
I put the 944's on my 02 last summer, heavy duty spring. My wife says there is a huge difference over the air shock.
I am sure the Ohlins are better.....but these are improvement over stock.
. Won't be riding it for another 4 months due to the crap weather we have. Needs a compensator anyway so I just go out and sit on it and make vroom vroom noises from time to time.
Much like you, but one Province over... 4 months 'til the snow melts. It amazing how time can drag when you have a bike sitting in the garage.
Oh, and if you do the above mod in the nacelle, inside there is an unused 12 volt connection for touring bike fender tip light. If you are not using it for such, it makes a great switched power source for GPS or a phone charger for you!
