Can someone please explain to me the difference between these 2 Tallboy seats: 52000134 and the 52000252? Ive read on here that the older model (52099-09) tends to cause the rider to slide forward too much. Im assuming that's the 8-13 model also.
The 52000134 fits 14-later as well as the 52000252, so whats the difference? Is it just the tour-pack/backrest stuff?
Thanks
New Castle,Pa HD claims the 52000134 was changed to the 52000252, so whats the difference?
I just pulled up both the part numbers you provided. Seems like both part numbers are still valid but I'll be damned what the difference between them might be. I ordered one of these just about a year ago--but I don't know which one I have. ??? When I was shopping I don't recall having to pick from 2 different part numbers. My reason for ordering was the stock seat on the '16 RGU I had just gotten sat me too far forward--felt like my nuts were riding on top of the tank! I do recall the literature (I guess the HD website) said the Tallboy would seat me further back approximately 1 1/2". And after putting the Tallboy seat on it really made a big difference. Wouldn't have hurt if it put me even a little further back but you take what you can get.
I don't remember seeing a HD part number on the seat itself. If you find out there is supposed to be a part number somewhere on the seat and want to know which one I have let me know and I'll go out into my cold, cold garage and uncover my beast and pull the seat to find the number.
I'm looking for a reasonably priced one, but these different model #'s are making it very confusing. There's a lot of posts on the forum about one of them sliding the rider forward while riding.
Thanks for the response
I have had a Tallboy seat on my Roadglide, as well as one on a a former bike (an Ultra Classic), and never had any issue with feeling like I was "sliding forward" on the seat.
Not sure which # my seat is...I will look later and see what it is and will re-post. I went to a solo seat setup, so not using the Tallboy any longer.
If you are looking for a Tallboy seat, mine is for sale...I was going to list it in the Classifieds this coming weekend. Excellent condition, came off my '13 RG. If interested, PM me.
