I love my SE255 in my 103, great low rpm power, perfect for my kind of low to mid rpm 2 up touring.
I suggest you consider a "Performance Upgrade", where it all comes together. I did the SE255, SERT, Power Duals, A/N Big Sucker, and the dyno that collectively allows more to go in, frees up more to come out, and more juke while it's in there.
Not trying to point a certain component, just saying address the whole scheme of things for best results.
I got lucky this year. Usually pay in around 25k and just try to break even at tax time. Maybe a grand either way. Wife didn’t work much this year and was a full time student so with the breaks I get for her tuition I’m actually getting back 5k of my 25,000 dollar donation.
Too bad that covers 10 weeks of child support to my ex wife...... doesn’t feel like much at that point lol.
That said, I’ve ran 551’s and 48’s in two different motors and for low end ya, they can’t be beat. The 551’s felt like they came in a little harder/earlier than the 48’s but that was also a built 98 vs the stock 96 the 48’s are in. Either set are awesome for 2 up riding though. Tons of tq right where you want it with a heavy bike and a passenger.
Thanks for the input guys. This giant tax refund I'm talking about adds about $400 to my annual bike goodies budget. To me that's a lot. I'm just a po white boy! LOL
This "tax time" stuff always makes me laugh. Only fools allow the government to keep their money interest-free all year long; then, the same fools think they are getting a gift cloaked as a refund.
Jesus. Can you not think of a better way to invest your money than parking it with the government at 0% interest all year long?
Furthermore, it is NOT the government ripping you off--it is you ripping yourself off.
Kind of like you sticking your head up your own **** and screaming, "It's dark in here!"

i claim 0 with 3 dependents so i get a big refund. I like my big refund and suprise suprise i dont care what you think. Go stick your own head up your ***.
I hear a lot of people that are unhappy with the Andrews 57h cam in their 103. Im running mine in a 2015 wide glide with a +4 advance on the pinion gear with a thunder max wave tune. Its got the standard stage 1 upgrades with a Vance & Hines vo2 air cleaner and Vance & Hines short shots exhaust. It runs like a dream but I am curious about some Dyno numbers though. It is torquey but I want to get more out of it.
I claim single and zero all year, and add 100 to that for the feds and another 50 to the state. Then I claim M-2 and hope I don't have to pay more.
The so called tax estimators from the IRS are a joke. Used that once and wound up owing 10 grand that year. Good incomes, cheap mortgage (then), no kids, nothing to itemize, etc. Some one has to pay for them that gets 8-10k more back than they paid in.
