Default Tour pack multi-question/help

So, I snagged this TP today for $280, one hr drive within the state.
I consider myself lucky in this particular case because I have been patiently looking for one I don't have to paint to match my bike.
Anyhoo, I want to find out some info on this. I don't plan to mount permanently, but rather use in long/overnight trips, so I am ok with it not being perfect.
My understanding is that I will have to figure out a way to give the right clearance to the Rushmore bags, as they are not made to work with this type of tourpack, but I am thinking I can shim it just fine.

1. Do any of you guys know the color combo on this? The predominant color is Luxury Rich Red, which is the color of my RK, but the contrast color I can't find anywhere. I am thinking that later on if I find a set of fenders or a tank with that combo I can replace mine.

2. Speaker pods, are they of any value and does anyone make a "delete kit" to make it look factory with out having to fill and paint?
I don't have a stereo on my bike nor do I plan on getting one. I won't be using the controls on the pods either so no loss there.

3. Does anyone here use the eBay detachable mount, is it decent quality/safe? I noticed a Yiuuuuuge difference in price vs the MOCO version.

Thanks in advance.

I don’t know why you couldn’t shim it, but I’d be nervous about going too high and having too much leverage against the bolts.

I have an eBay quick release kit, the 3 piece that bolts together. It’s plenty strong but I’ve considering tac-welding the joints.

And as as for the speakers. I left the damn things on. Quite frankly it looks goofy without them and leaves some pretty decent sized holes that would need filler plugs, which probably would end up looking worse than the speaker pods.

Thanks man, that thought came to my mind after I read my post... I think you are correct, I may just leave them there.

Ember Red Sunglo or perhaps Mysterious red sunglo for the red, Merlot for the bottom? This is the Ember Red Sunglo/Merlot

I don't think is that. For some reason I am having a hard time uploading pics. I'll try again

So, the top part of the lid has that "gold leaf" look. The majority of the paint is Luxury Rich Red which is the part that matches my bike.

That leafy contrast color does not look factory. Maybe try Color-Rite to see what the color combos were for that year.

I tried some of the cheap mounting racks. They were all junk and fit loose. In the end I found a used moco one.
