Default Ignition switch alignment

In order to swap out my handlebars on my 2012 electra glide, we had to remove the ignition switch. We didn't disconnect any wires, just pulled the switch and post out of the housing by pushing up on that little pin. Now that everything is put back together, we slipped the ignition back in and turned it on...but nothing happened. No lights, no fuel pump, zip. Brand new battery, tested it, and it's full. No blown fuses. I've read a lot about the fact that the ignition switch could be misaligned. This is a foreign concept that I'm not understanding. I pulled it out, and I put it back in. How do I make sure it's put back in correctly? If I somehow got the tumblers misaligned, how do I go about re-aligning them? Any direction would be helpful, thanks!

Did you turn the tumblers while the switch was out?

If that's the case then you have some misaligned pins, wires in the wrong spots in the connectors, or you left something unconnected.
