I doubt speed is your issue, but it is recommended using 8x or less.
There have been several updates to the optical disk writing specifications since the HD HK software updates were released, and even worse, many modern programs dont tell you or give you a choice as to what format they are using. That is why you were told in in Audio Forum to try and use an older computer to burn them. (As I recall I used an XP machine, which has since fried.)
The instructions call for
standard format (HFS Plus/ISO 9660), iTunes (Audio CD), or MP3 (ISO
9660).
You might search to see if there is a way to burn the CD in one of those formats on your computer, or maybe give some info as to how you burned those 5 disks, i.e.
What operating system
What program was used
What settings in the program were used.
I have burned 10 disks now and none will work. All different programs ie: IMG BURN, NERO, ROXIO. All speeds from 2x-8x. Made sure it was burning to ISO. Still no luck.
Again, the original ISO 9660 (1998) standard has been updated several times, and some revisions were still called 9660.
Nero should be able to do it ... so should some of the others, but they default to newer formats.
Been a while since I used it, but you want to look for the file/options/expert tab (something like that)
There should be an ISO tab somewhere in there, you want to uncheck all options (like Joliet, UDF, etc. You want just the original ISO 9660 . (this may be in the Relax Restrictions area)
If there is a choice for msdos (don’t think Nero has that) you could check that as well.
.
Yes, I am using CDR discs. I have burned 15 discs at all different speeds with 5 different burner software. None will work. Guess I will be calling dealer Monday to see if they have one.
Try to burn this image to a CD-R. (This is an .iso file !!! You need to change the extension from .mpg to .iso because the site would not let me zip it!)
