Go to a bike night or a biker bar and listen to the bikes as they pull in. When you hear one you like, go up to the guy and ask him about his exhaust and what mods he's done. Tell him ( or her ) that it sounds sweet. You compliment a Harley rider and he will be happy to talk about his bike for days.
If you are worried about performance, a good dyno technician can get any modern exhaust pretty close to each other as far as performance goes. The numbers might be a little different but your butt dyno wouldn't be able to tell.
