So I know there is a zillion posts on this but there are so many different views and most the ones I saw are guys over 6’0 asking.. well I’m only 5’6” and I have an 08 SG.. currently I have a 6” windshield with the indents on the sides. It’s right at the height where I can see over it but at 70mph the buffeting is insane! I thought of maybe going to a 7” but I feel the top edge will be right at my eye level and if I went to an 8” I’d always be looking through the windshield which I really don’t want..
...... where is the wind coming from that's doing the buffeting ?
... is it coming over the top of the shield or from under the fairing ?
....... gotta answer that question first to know where to look for a solution

Take a ride....when the buffeting starts, take your left arm and hold it across your chest, horizontal to the ground. If this stops or decreases the buffeting, the wind is coming from below the fairing. If this has no affect, then the wind is coming from the top or side of the faring. I had buffeting and ended up putting fangs on the forks (13 street glide). Also helmets do make a difference.
I would do this simple test so you can, hopefully, not spend a lot of money needlessly. Good Luck

I'm also 5'6" with about a 30" inseam. I'm running the Klockwerks 6 or 6.5 (can't remember) with no issues. Mine is a Rushmore, but the fairing vent open or closed doesn't really change anything noticeable for me.
