Default 2006 road king cruise control?

I have a 2006 Roadking the cruise control is intermittent at best. I know they were problematic with the reel cable box. I know that works. I can set the cruise at lower speeds, 30 to about 45 mph, but hiway speeds above 60 it wont set. I am wondering if precise throttle cable adjustment is the issue? or has anyone else had this problem and how they resolved it?

I wonder if it is vibration, causing one your brake switches to activate?
Or the throttle cable switch is acting up?
I would say it would be one of those two.

And don't be resting your fingers on the front brake lever. I know that will kick mine off. So will holding my throttle to tight.

I'd be looking at the cable safety. I think it's normal open, so you could disconnect it and see what it does, or if it's normal closed you can ground it temporarily and see how it acts

thanks for the responses that I have received. I found the "roll off switch" to be the culprit. a "normally closed" switch, found that it was sometimes open, sometimes closed. I disconnected the two connections. I test rode it, worked great, however no roll off switch until I get a new one. thanks for the input!

Exactly what happened to my 03 RK and exactly what I did as a temporary fix.............. 2-1/2 years ago, lol. I'll buy new cables someday!
