That was going to be my suggestion too. They make great sounding and great PERFORMING mufflers for when you upgrade the headers. They don't sell like a lot of the big names, but they are a great company.

I subscribe to John Maxwell's Youtube channel and he did a comparison on some touring exhaust here:

He also did a comparison for a Softail exhaust here:

I ran Screaming Eagle slip-ons on my '12 and have them on '17. Worked for me. Have a few friends who like RC Components. If you are interested in going that way, take a look at this post if you want to save some $$$. https://www.hdforums.com/forum/touri...-99-16-fl.html

search around on here, i had some RCX that were really rattling BAD, i did pix and write up.
i 'think' the old SE pipes have removable baffles?

take out baffle
get an exhaust expander from Advance, take out one of the teeth, then slip it in, expand the baffle a bit.
beat it back in, with a piece of wood on each end.

ride it till your are tired of them.

I have the Oversized Titan 450's similar to what John Maxwell shows in the first video. They have an awesome deceleration sound.

I have their 3.5" HP Plus on my 03 88 and they look and sound really good. Their 4" are probably a bit deeper but these have a nice tone, not too loud, but sound great when you get on it.

Darn good advice right there !!! I had a set of the made by Supertrapp Slipons with removable baffles and they rattled after many miles. Expanding would not work on these due to the design. They friction fit on the shoulder up front of the baffle,I cured it by denting the muffler body slightly where you cannot see it. Lasted more years until I went to different Supertrapps with the disc setup. Then I gave them to my buddy who ran them 30k.

I had Samson's on my 03 RK that sounded nice. Now I'm running Fullsac, may want to go to their website for a look. They were reasonably priced.

Got the tab bam sticks with zombie baffles. This is the video that sold me. They are loud but sell quiter removable baffles fairly cheap. I love mine. They claim 8-12 hp or something but I’m sure that’s with the perfect tune etc.
